As you may already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month nationwide. Early detection is the key for survival from this deadly disease, and IGBO joins in supporting all of you in getting your appointments made with your physician for your mammograms.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, and if detected early enough, there is a 98% survival rate. And for you men out there, you too can be at risk at a minimal level, so please ensure you are talking to your physicians about risk factors. Everyone can say they have been affected by this awful disease in some fashion, let’s all help increase the awareness of this disease by sharing your personal stories or those of a loved one that has fought the fight. And make those appointments for mammograms NOW.
