The 34th IGBO Mid-Year Conference and Tournament was held in early November in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. With over 250 attendees, it was a huge success. IGBO thanks the entire Jacksonville committee for their hospitality and execution of the event.
During the conference on Wednesday and Thursday, the Board of Directors met to take care of the business side of IGBO. Each board member delivered their individual reports including what they have been working on, tournaments they have participated in and general issues concerning their respective positions.
On Friday November 7, 2014, the General Membership Meeting convened. IGBO welcomed the following six leagues that were voted into membership:
- Rainbow Bowl, Keene, New Hampshire, United States
- Auckland Gay Bowling Organization, Auckland, New Zealand
- The Unbowlievables, Stockton, California, United States
- DIGLIT Doubles, Thornton, Colorado, United States
- Front Range Sunday Night Rollers, Lafayette, Colorado, United States
- LGBT (Let’s Go Bowling Together), Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
A committee from San Francisco, California presented a bid to host IGBO Mid-Year Conference and Tournament in November 2016. The General Membership opted not to approve the bid and IGBO re-opened the bid process to accept Letters of Intent to host IGBO Mid-Year 2016 through December 31, 2014. The deadline to submit Letters of Intent for IGBO Annual 2017 remains November 15, 2014.
Elections were held for the following positions, Regions 6 and 8. The results are as follows: Region 6 James McLain and Region 8 Scott Stiff.
At the banquet it was announced that the Tom Hack Award recipients for 2014 were Steve Frable from Washington, DC and Robert Silliman from Chelsea, Massachusetts. Congrats to both of these very deserving winners. As the banquet concluded, the flag was passed to Omaha, Nebraska, hosts of the next IGBO Annual Conference and Tournament in May 2015.Social tagging: conference recap > igboconference > new members
