LEAGUES
TOURNAMENTS

Submitted by Rob Silliman—Northeast Regional Director—for IGBO Newsletter.

Last Updated: 12/03/2007

Happy New Year bowlers,

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday season. Beginning this year I have decided that I will be having Regional IGBO meetings at all the tournaments that I attend. I hope that this will bring more people to the meetings and allow me to meet more people in your areas. Please remember to inform your leagues that I will be having meetings and all are welcome to attend. Just because someone can’t bowl in the tournament doesn’t mean they can’t come to a meeting.

This year at Sweetheart, I hope to have the drawing for the Northeast Regional Raffle to help benefit Syracuse for the IGBO Midyear 2009. The basket is shaping up to be one heck of a deal. The value of the basket is well over $1000 dollars and I expect it to continue to climb as people donate to the cause. I encourage everyone on the Northeast to help this cause by either donating an item for the basket or to buy tickets. This is the first IGBO tournament the Northeast has had since 1999, let’s make it a great one.

My schedule as it stands now is I will be attending Sweetheart and Gotham, I will update in the next newsletter.

I ask that all reps let me know if they are going to attend either tournament that way I can bring their end of season awards with me and save on postage.

One final note, in May 2008 at the IGBO Annual tournament in Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC will be bidding for the 30th Annual IGBO Tournament in May 2010. I encourage the entire Northeast to help support Washington’s bid for this event, either by making sure I get your proxies/absentee ballots or by attending the tournament. I have been to Atlanta and they really have a fun tournament. If this is your first time contemplating doing an IGBO event, this one will not disappoint.

In unity, fellowship and communication,

Rob
