  • An IGBO First? A 300 Game in a New IGBO 300 Shirt

by Raffy Rodriquez & Jeff Weinberg

Have you ever bowled a 300 game? Neither of us can make that claim, very few people can. Even better, have you bowled a 300 game while wearing your brand-new IGBO 300 shirt? There is a guy in Florida who can claim this astonishing feat!
Meet Patrick Bronstein. A 24-year-old, two-handed bowler originally from Troy, Michigan, now living in Miami, Florida. He bowls in the Thursday Early Birds league in Wilton Manors. He also bowls in the Sunday Bear Bowl league full-time and subs in Tuesday Nighters both at Manor Lanes.

On November 21, 2024, Pat bowled his first ever 300 game. On February 6, 2025, as IGBO rep of the league, I (Jeff) presented him with his IGBO 300 polo shirt. After the first game, Pat decided to put on his new shirt (for luck) and proceeded to bowl his SECOND 300 game! IGBO rules state that a bowler can earn only 1 300 shirt per calendar year. Because he bowled his first 300 in 2024, and his second 300 in 2025, Pat pulled off a unique accomplishment, earning 2 IGBO 300 shirts in the same season! He also has a personal best 764 series!

When asked why bowl in gay leagues as a straight man, Pat simply stated “it’s fun, I don’t care.” Pat truly is one of the friendliest guys in the league. Whether he’s bowling well or poorly, he always has a bright smile on his face. We need more people like Pat in our leagues. Wonderful to have you as an ally, Patrick! Keep up the phenomenal bowling!
